ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Council’s Facility Management unit sits within the City Services Directorate and focuses on the cleanliness, compliance, security & safety of the building assets & facilities. Cumberland City Council manages over three hundred and eighty building assets and facilities across the LGA which provide a wide variety of services to our community.

In contributing to the overarching vision, the Workshop Officer provides administrative support to the Workshop Supervisor and the fleet services area. The position ensures efficient, cost effective, sustainable, and customer focused fleet procurement, management and reporting to an industry best practice standard, as per Council’s policies and procedures and all regulatory fleet requirements, including all Council vehicles and plant, both owned and leased.

The successful applicant will require:

  • Fleet Management Certificate (IPWEA) or equivalent, and/or relevant work experience
  • Forklift license
  • Class C drivers licence
  • Extensive knowledge of fleet management principles
  • Working knowledge of Pinpoint telematics or equivalent
  • Strong organisation and administration skills
  • Experience in external contracts and supply
  • Demonstrated customer centric approach to delivering services
  • Conflict negotiation experience
  • Ability to communicate with team members and sales representatives
  • Competent computer skills, including the Microsoft suite of applications, particularly Excel, and financial and electronic document management systems.

Position information: This is a permanent, full-time position, working a 70 hour fortnight, with access to Council's 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement.

This role is predominantly located at Council's Guilford Depot, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations.

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 11 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,656.10 to $1,904.51 per week , plus 11% superannuation
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
