ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Council’s Assets, Capital and Facilities unit sits within the City Services directorate and focuses on the beautification of the Cumberland LGA. Cumberland City Council owns and operates four (4) swim and leisure centre facilities across the LGA which provide recreational services to our community. 

The role of the Venues Officer is to be the main support to the Coordinator at Council’s Centres including the Holroyd or Granville Centre and to provide all day to day house keeping, room set up and customer service duties

The successful applicant will require:

  • Relevant experience working in Hospitality
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Ability to carry three plates at meal service
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualification
  • Sound computer and office administration skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently

Position information: This is a casual position, working shifts between the hours of 5am to 11pm on Monday to Sunday, when required. Hours are generally rostered within business hours however will require occasional night shifts and weekend work. 

This role is predominantly located at Council's Holroyd and Granville Centre, with occasional travel required across Council work locations. 

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 2 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $27.60 to $31.74 per hour (including casual loading), plus 11% superannuation
  • Weekend penalty rates apply in accordance with the Local Government Award. 
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role

Council fully supports the aims and objectives of NSW Child Protection Legislation, and associated provisions, and will implement all necessary measures to ensure a safe and supportive environment, which endeavours to promote child protection practices.
