ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Bookings and Community Centres team are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day bookings and management of Council's community buildings, staffed community centres, sports fields and open space facilities. 

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate person to join the Bookings and Community Centres team in providing high quality customer service to residents and user groups for Council's bookable community spaces. The position is responsible for for the day to day booking management of the Council’s community building facilities, Council managed recreational facilities and other facilities as required. This role is also required to work out of and promote our Staffed Community Centres and Bookable Spaces to the wider community, creating opportunities for increase in utilisation.

The duties of the position include the provision of information to internal and external stakeholders regarding council’s facilities and assisting with any issues that may arise.

The successful applicant will require:

  • Experience in office or facility administration or other relevant area
  • Proven computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite e.g. Word, Excel, and preferably Publisher and PowerPoint
  • Ability to efficiently write and produce accurate reports, correspondence and documents
  • Experience in a busy customer service environment
  • Proven communication skills (oral and written), including preparation of written responses to enquiries where required
  • Ability to operate an electronic booking system and keep accurate records 
  • Highly developed problem solving skills
  • Ability to meet targets/KPIs and competing deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills
  • First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain)
  • Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)

Position information:  This is a permanent, full-time position, working a 70 hour fortnight with access to a Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement.

The role is required to work across Council's staffed community centres and bookings administrations team, including Berala, Auburn, Guildford and Merrylands.

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 8 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,291.32 to $1,485.02 per week, plus 11% superannuation
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role.

Council fully supports the aims and objectives of NSW Child Protection Legislation, and associated provisions, and will implement all necessary measures to ensure a safe and supporting Council environment, which endeavours to promote child safe child friendly practices. It is essential for applicants to submit their WWCC number with their application.
