ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

In contributing to the overarching vision, the Manager Property Transactions leads the overall management of Council’s Property portfolio and delivery of the Property Strategy. The role is responsible for ensuring that property transactions are undertaken in compliance with legislative requirements and so as to meet the strategic objectives of the Council in accordance with Council’s Community Strategic Plan, Delivery Program, Operational Plan and Long Term Financial Plan, Policies, Resolutions, Operating Plans and Budget.

The successful applicant will require:

  • Qualifications in the areas of land economics, property valuation, property management, real estate, project management, planning or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience managing and leading property transactions in a local government setting.
  • Highly developed negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated people management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a high performing team of staff.
  • High level oral and written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to prepare reports and review legal documentation pertaining to matters such as leases, licenses and easements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the legal framework applicable to local government property transactions
  • Class C Driver’s licence.

About this role: 

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • 70 hours per fortnight
  • Located at Council's Merrylands Office, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 17 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $3,167.26 to $3,642.35 per week, plus 11% superannuation
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
