ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Council’s Assets, Capital and Facilities unit sits within the City Services directorate and focuses on the management of the Cumberland LGA. Cumberland City Council owns and operates four (4) Aquatic Centres and two (2) Fitness facilities across the LGA which provide recreational services to our community.
In contributing to the overarching vision, the Coordinator – Aquatic Programs manages and coordinates the operation of Councils Swim School and other Aquatic based programs. This role is also responsible for undertaking specific human resources projects as and when required.
The successful applicant will require:
- Current AUSTSWIM licence
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Working with Children Check
- Relevant experience in effective development, operation and delivery of swim programs and in particular a commitment to safe pool practice
- Strong leadership and staff management experience
- Coaching and teaching experience
- Proficiency in financial management and administration
- Ability to recognise and respond to industry relevant changes and opportunities relating to aquatic education and water safety programs
- High level of interpersonal and customer service skills, exceptional organisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Computer literacy, particularly in the MS Office Suite of products

About this role:
- Permanent, full-time position
- 70 hour fortnight
- Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement
- Located at Council's Granville and Wentworthville Swim Centres, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations
Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 12 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,844.36 to $2,121.02 per week, plus 11.5% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
