ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Service Development Assistant is a part of the Seniors and Disability Services team within Cumberland City Council.  The Seniors and Disability Team provides a range of quality direct services including information, carer support, home delivered and centre based meals, transport, activities, events and social groups to maintain overall wellbeing and independence. By providing a committed approach to person centred essential support, the team seeks to promote social inclusion, encourage an enhanced quality of life and increase capacity for seniors and people with disability to participate in the community.

The Service Development Assistant is responsible for undertaking administrative tasks which contribute to the delivery of high-quality services to Seniors and Disability Services team customers. It achieves this by ensuring staff in the Seniors and Disability Services team receive administrative and logistical support of a high standard. The role demands a high level of relationship building along with meticulous administrative skills in the areas of service delivery, promotion/ marketing, quality assurance, managing workloads, and organisational  compliance.

The successful applicant will require:

  • Qualifications in administrative functions, community services, aged or disability care and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • High level administrative skills, including attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate records and advanced skills in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse range of groups including culturally and linguistically diverse communities
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise, organise and be flexible in assigned tasks to meet deadlines
  • Class C driver’s licence.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or ability to obtain

About this role: 

  • 1x Term contract, part-time position
  • Working Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 9:00am to 2:30pm with 30 minute lunch break, 15 hours per week
  • This role is predominantly located at Council's Merrylands office, however may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 6 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $33.67 to $41.31 per hour, plus 11.5% superannuation
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
