ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Social Inclusion Support Worker is part of Seniors and Disability Services, within Cumberland City Council which provides a range of quality direct services including information, advocacy, carer support, nutrition services (home delivered and centre based meals), transport, and activities, events and social groups to maintain overall wellbeing and independence. By providing a committed approach to person centred essential support, the team seeks to promote social inclusion, encourage an enhanced quality of life and increase capacity for seniors and people with disability to participate in the community.
The Social Inclusion Support Worker is responsible for providing care and support to older people or people with disability who require assistance with daily tasks. These services may be provided in private homes, at Council venues or in the community and aim to improve their quality of life.
The successful applicant will require:
- • Certificate III in Aged Care or the equivalent experince in a relevant field
• Ability to communicate with a range of people including older people, staff, volunteers and carers
• Good written and verbal communication skills including ability to write clear and concise care notes and other organisational forms
• Demonstrated organisational and time management skills and the ability to manage workload and a range of priorities.
• Ability to relate and empathise with a diverse range of people
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
• Class C drivers licence and access to own vehicle.

About this role:
- Casual positions
- Located across various locations in Cumberland City Council's LGA.
Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 5 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with an hourly rate of $33.01 per hour plus 12% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
- 25% Casual Loading
What you'll need to have for this role:
- The right to live and work in Australia
- Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position, including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
- Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Council’s Health Monitoring Procedure, as required
- Provide evidence of your vaccination status as part of the employment screening process, in accordance with Council’s COVID-19 Vaccination Procedure.
