ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Organisation Development team is responsible for the developing the skills and capabilities of employees across the organisation through the development and delivery of internal and external workforce development initiatives.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning and Development Officer to join our Organisation Development team to assist with developing the capabilities of employees across the organisation.
Reporting to the Coordinator Organisation Development, the role will work closely with the Learning and Development Business Partner to coordinate and support the delivery of effective Learning and Development programs including e-learning modules, organisation development initiatives and will be responsible for administering Council's Learning Management System.
The successful applicant will require:
- Relevant qualifications in learning and development or administrative field and/or equivalent experience
- Experience in providing support and assistance including the provision of confidential administrative support
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, manage time effectively, plan and organise workloads and set priorities
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on multiple tasks, identify priorities, meet deadlines and manage activities efficiently and effectively
- Ability to exercise initiative and judgement in applying established procedures and approaching problems
- High-level computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Ability and willingness to work flexibly in a team environment
- Highly motivated, professional and self-disciplined with the ability to operate with limited direction and supervision
- Current driver’s licence.

About this role:
- Permanent, full-time position
- 70 hour fortnight
- Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement
- Located at Council's Merrylands office, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations
Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 9 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,503.92 to $1,842.30 per week, plus 12% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role.
What you'll need to have for this role:
- The right to live and work in Australia
- Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position, including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
- Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Council’s Health Monitoring Procedure, as required.
