About the Opportunity
The Communications Officer will be responsible for delivering a broad range of communications initiatives and materials for Council. The Communications Officer will work within a multidisciplinary team focused on improving Council’s communication with its culturally diverse community about Council services, events, projects and initiatives. The Communications Officer will assist in building Council's profile, including the development and delivery of communications strategies and plans and preparing high quality content for multiple communications and marketing channels. This role is an extremely ‘hands on’ position requiring a strong ability to manage multiple competing priorities of high importance to Council.

Salary: Employment is under the Local Government (State) Award. This position is placed in Grade 10 of Cumberland Council's Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,386.72 to $1,594.72 per week plus superannuation. Commencement salary will depend upon qualifications, experience and competencies. A market allowance will be considered for suitable applicants.
Conditions of Employment: This is a permanent full time position. This position is working 35 hours per week with access to a 9 day fortnight. This position will be initially located at Merrylands, however there is the possibility that you may be working across Merrylands and/or Auburn worksites.
